Teach Homeless Kids
One way you can help the homeless and their
homeless kids is by offering to teach homeless kids. Yes, you
really can help the homeless by donating time alone to teaching
homeless kids. These homeless kids lack education and
opportunities to advance academically. Homeless kids that do go
to school find themselves moving often changing schools over
and over. This is hard for homeless kids to keep records of
their studies. Moving from one homeless shelters to another
homeless shelters make it hard for homeless kids to study and
make friends.
Some homeless kids don't even go to school
at all. Some homeless kids are too sick to go to
school. Many homeless kids are too hungry to think about
school. When homeless people have no food to eat or nothing to
wear, school is pretty low in the list of priorities among the
homeless.
If teaching homeless kids is something that
you would like to do, contact your local city shelter and ask
them what opportunities are available for you to help.
Problems at school for homeless kids
Apart from finding it difficult to go to
school because of hunger or lack of clothes or basic things
other kids have, homeless kids also face social challenges.
Being different at school is not always a good thing. Many
homeless kids are teased at school by their classmates. This
make them lack self esteem and confidence and make it harder
for the homeless kids to study.
Homeless kids often need extra educational
help
Because of all the problems associated with
homelessness, homeless kids often need extra tuition help
regardless of whether they go to school or not. You can
volunteer you time to teach those homeless kids. Often a one on
one tuition method works well with homeless kids who often need
more attention than given in class.
