Homelessness and Homeless Children
As previously stated, homelessness
means much more than a lack of home for homeless children
and homeless people.
Homelessness leads to poor diets for
homeless children and homeless people
Homeless children and homeless people
usually have little or no food. Foods that homeless shelters
give homeless children and homeless people are often tasteless
and under-nutritious. Homeless children and other children
alike need many nutrients and vitamins to grow well.
Homelessness leads to poor diets which results in unhealthy
homeless children and homeless people in general. Homelessness
leads to poor health, which leads to homeless children and
homeless people needing even more medical attention that they
cannot afford. With no money to get better and no home,
homeless people and homeless children usually remain homeless
for the rest of their lives. It's a deadly, nearly imposible to
break downward spiral.
Homeless children often have low self
esteem
Self esteem comes from a lot of
encouragement and believing in oneself - something that
homeless children rarely find. Homeless children often live in
fear of homelessness. Homeless children see other non
homeless children getting things they cannot have and may feel
like they are not good enough giving rise their low self
esteem.
Homeless people around them also contribute
to homeless children 's low self esteem. Homeless parents are
often short tempered since homeless people are always under
pressure to survive and feed their homeless children. Being
shouted at all the time does not help homeless children gain
self esteem.
