Food Stamp Program

Food Stamp Program is the federal government program but is run by state and local agencies. The food stamp program helps many homeless people with food. With the food stamp programs, homeless people are given food stamps which they can use at selected grocery stores to buy groceries. Everyone can apply for the food stamp program but not everyone will qualify for the food stamp program and receive food stamps. Certain restrictions also apply when you are on the food stamp program.

Applying for the food stamp program

To apply for the food stamp program, pick up an application form for a food stamp program at any Social Security office. If you are filling out the application for the food stamp program alone, send it to the food stamp office or the Social Security office with a food stamp representative. Then you will be interviewed for the food stamp program if you meet the food stamp program qualification criteria.

Are food stamps allowed on fast food items?

No, when you are on food stamps, you are not allowed to buy prepared items such as fast food (McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Sonic, Jack in the Box, etc), deli sandwiches, and rotisserie chicken.
